My mouse has ADHD

Does any know why my mouse keeps sticking? I have a Microsoft wireless mouse. The batteries are usually fresh and it worked fine for three years. Recently, the cursor will stick on whatever link was last clicked -- it's so annoying because I then have to right click to get the cursor unstuck but when I do, I have to contend with the right-click menu that has every right to appear at such a time. It takes so much longer to navigate this way.
